JOIN US EACH SUMMER!

Each summer, we produce THE DRAMA PROJECT – a professional theatre training program for children and young people during featuring a staff of professional theatre educators. Drama Project classes are available for children ages 5 through 18. The are separated into groups by age. Classes are all age-appropriate and designed to build upon previous knowledge. All classes have physical movement, vocalization, pantomime and various theatre games.

The Fairbanks Drama Association (FDA) was first the Fairbanks Children's Theater (FCT) in 1963. Professor Elizabeth Wills and Marlene Bell, the organizers, started with a $600 grant from the Fairbanks chapter of the American Association of University Women. Their first production, the Emperor's News Clothes, was held at Schiable Hall and was artistically and financially successful.

Each spring on March 15, registration begins here! The DRAMA PROJECT brochure is available to download here or for pick up at the Hap Ryder Riverfront Theatre. The brochure includes an abbreviated curriculum for age-level class contents. All classes are held at the Hap Ryder Riverfront Theatre.
